      100 YEARS IN THE FAMILY

D.P. Whitton & Sons Ltd., jewellery and fancy goods wholesale suppliers, are celebrating their centenary. The firm was started in 1859 by Mr. D.P. Whitton who opened a small wholesale fancy goods business in the High Street, Dundee. The firm later moved to larger premises at the foot of the Overgate, and in 1891 moved to the present six-floor warehouse at 26, Exchange Street. It is still a family business under the direction of Miss Ethel Whitton and her brother, Mr. John G. Whitton, assisted by their two sisters, Miss Lizzie Whitton and Miss Laura Whitton.
