      at 1901 census at 27 Springbank Street, Milton Glasgow a House Joiner with a Housekeeper Catherine Lamont aged 24 this must have been an error as he had married her in 1900! so her name would have been Catherine Whitton. The census states that both are single!
      They were still there in 1902 when daughter born

      At this address in September 1929 when their 2 remaining daughters emigrated to Canada under the Empire Settlement Scheme.
      William Whitton, his wife Catherine Lamont and one son who travelled to Halifax, Nova Scotia on the "Baltic". They departed Greenock "Tail of the Bank" on 23rd March 1930 3rd Class on a special emigrant rate of £10 to live in Canada both Williams were Carpenters and their address was given as 70 Seamore Street, Glasgow.
      The Canadian contact was their daughter Susan at 166 Delaware Avenue, Hamilton, Ontario. It appears that their son Donald moved to England and married there.
      It may be that he and his wife returned to the Uk to stay with their son Donald after the war.
