      Kappa- Jessie Willard Whitton Sr., 62 of Kappa passed away peacefully at home with his family at 10:08 A.M. Tuesday, February 5, 2008
      He was born on July 4, 1945 at Milwaukee a son of Cecil and Nellie Byrd Whitton. He married Linda Bennett on August 12, 1965. She died December 28, 1997.
      He was also preceded in death by his loving parents, Cecil and Nellie Whitton; two sisters, Evelyn Sebree and Lily Quickle.
      He is survived by his children, Vickie (David) Wilder, Kappa, Jessie (Salli) Whitton Jr., Congerville; three brothers, Cecil A. Whitton, Mackinaw, Cecil L. Whitton, Jacksonville, and Lawrence Whitton, Colorado; two grandsons, Thomas and Jessie Forman; five granddaughters, Kathy Forman, Chelsey Oak, Ashli Whitton, Devven Wilder and Brooke Whitton.
      Mr. Whitton was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Air Force and was a lifetime member of the El Paso VFW Post 6026.
      He worked for many years as a mechanic, dividing most of that time at Sam Leman and Whitton Trucking. He enjoyed fishing, farming, and hugs from his grandchildren.
      His funeral services will be on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, El Paso. Rev. Dr. Tim Smith will officiate.
