- Funeral services for Lois Elizabeth Whitton Nichols, 82, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007, at the Calvary Christian Tabernacle, 301 E. Hawkins Parkway, with Pastor A. D. Spears, Pastor Ennis Fuller and Pastor Barry Rankin officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery. Mrs. Nichols passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2007. She was born September 18, 1924, in Redflat Texas. She spent the majority of her life in Nacogdoches County and was a longtime resident of Nacogdoches, Texas. Mrs. Nichols had been a member of the Eastside Pentecostal Church and moved to Longview TXin 1986 where she was a member of the Calvary Christian Tabernacle. Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her grandson, Ricky Wayne Weeks, of Longview; parents, the Reverend Johnnie T. and Cora Whitton, of Crockett, Texas; three brothers, Johnny "Junior" Whitton of Nacogdoches, Troy Whitton of Dallas, Carrol Whitton of Dallas; and one sister, Sue Whitcomb of Crockett. Mrs. Nichols is survived by her children, Sharon Sanders and husband, Earl, of Cushing, Trilla Bailey and husband, Roland, of Longview, Jerry Don Nichols and wife, Tess, of Kilgore, Preston Nichols and wife, Linda, of Nacogdoches, Anita Harrison of Cushing and Tanya Williams Bush and husband, Jerry, of Kilgore. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Clois Smith of Kirbyville, Texas, and sisters-in-law, Bulah Whitton of Dallas, Patsy Whitton of Gladewater and Linda Whitton of Cushing and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are grandsons, Chad Sanders, Roland "Lynn" Bailey Jr., Micah Nichols, Mark Nichols, Jeremy Fults and Dustin Williams. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. today. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the friends that visited and the churches that prayed and to Gregg Home for the Aged and Texas Home Health Hospice for the care, kindness and love they showed our mother.
