    • Edgar E. "Eddie" Whitton, Jr., 41, of Oil City, formerly of Rockland, died early Sunday morning, November 20, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following an illness.

      He was born February 15, 1975 in Pittsburgh, a son of Edgar E. Whitton, Sr. and Sharon (Beach) Whitton.

      He attended Cranberry High School and also studied welding and auto-body at Vo-Tech.

      Mr. Whitton was a former member of both the Pinegrove and Rockland Volunteer Fire Departments.

      Eddie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

      He owned and operated his own construction business until his health declined.

      He is survived by his parents, Edgar and Sharon Whitton of Oil City; his former spouse, Barbara Whitton Felmlee; seven children: Felicia Ann Jenkins, Selena Mayann Whitton, Edgar E. Whitton, III, Shelby Joe Whitton, Connor Lewis Kostenbauder, Harley Ann Whitton, and Hunter Jerry Lee Whitton; a sister, Iva Whitton and her boyfriend Chuck Marsh of Oil City; and a niece, Charlotte Marsh. Eddie was expecting a grandson, Odin O'Day, to be arriving soon.

      Eddie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Iva and Kenneth Beach; his paternal grandparents, Alan and Francis Whitton; and a brother, Jerry Lee Whitton.

      Friends and family will be received Wednesday (Nov. 23rd) from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township, where the funeral service will follow Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Larry Williams, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, officiating.

      Interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery.
