    • Indianapolis-Laura E. (Templin) Van Buskirk, 84, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015, at the Community Hospital South following an extended illness. She was born on February 21, 1930, in Muncie, the daughter of Richard A. and Elizabeth (Maddox) Templin.
      Laura is a 1949 Central High School graduate. Later she would marry the love of her life, Robert Van Buskirk, Sr. and he preceded her in death February 29, 1988. Mrs. Van Buskirk had worked as a machine operator for both Brady Air Control for 25 years until they closed, and eventually, for Werts Novelty for 15 years prior to her retirement in 1992. She also served in home health care for several years.
      Laura was inducted in the Muncie USBC Bowling Hall of Fame in 2003. She and her husband Robert bowled on several leagues and participated in several tournaments throughout the Muncie area. Mrs. Van Buskirk had been an avid golfer and to say she had a passion for Bingo and the Wheel of Fortune slot machine game was an understatement! She enjoyed doing crochet work and family time with her children and grandchildren. She even had owned an Indian Motorcycle.
      Survivors include, one daughter, Lisa E. Wiese (husband-Steven), Indianapolis; two sons, Randall D. Van Buskirk (wife-Connie), Muncie and Leslie Van Buskirk, Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Jasmine Van Buskirk, Muncie, Alona Van Buskirk, Albany, Riley Van Buskirk, Lauren Wiese and Brodie Wiese all of Indianapolis, Trent and Kearston White, both of Muncie; four great grandchildren, Brad Hatfield, Abigail Van Buskirk, Muncie and Brayden Spears and Baylee Locke, Albany; one sister-in-law, Beverly Templin, Muncie; one cousin, Doris June Swoveland, Mooreland.
      Besides her husband of 39 years, Robert, she is preceded in death by one son, Robert “Robbie” Van Buskirk, Jr. 1977; her parents; three sisters; two brothers.
      Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015, 1:00 P.M. at the Parson Mortuary with Pastor Tony Guinn officiating. Cremation is to follow with burial of cremated remains to be inurned at Tomlinson Cemetery at a later date.
