  • Notes
    • Freddie Jo Whitton Freddie Jo Knight Whitton, age 79, went home to be with our Lord on May 31, 2014.
Freddie Jo was born in Seminole, OK to Fred and Jo Knight on December 29, 1934. She graduated from Cut Bank High School in Cut Bank, MT in 1953. In September 1954, Freddie Jo met the love of her life Richard Whitton and married him on September 10, 1955. Richard and Freddie Jo lived in Cut Bank, MT and Tulsa, OK where they welcomed sons Ricky and Greg, before settling in Houston, TX in 1964.
Freddie Jo will be remembered for her enthusiasm for life and for the fun she had socializing, traveling, and gambling with her family and friends. A dedicated wife and mother, she selflessly devoted herself to her husband and family. She found great joy in antiquing with her mother and friends, where she cultivated warm and lasting friendships for life. Freddie Jo also loved animals, and was a champion for the underdog. The neighborhood strays (animals and children alike) seemed to find their way to Freddie Jo and Richard's back door, where they knew they would be well fed, loved and cared for. Her quick smile, love of life, generous spirit, and straight forward approach will be missed dearly. Although her years were many, Freddie Jo was eternally young and vivacious at heart.
She was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Jo Knight and sister, Margaret Cody.
Freddie Jo is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard Whitton, and her two sons, Richard F. Whitton and Gregory L. Whitton and husband, Skyler Cornelius.
Freddie Jo had a great love for Montana and Black Feet Indian Reservation. The Whitton family asks in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Blackfeet Nurturing Center, POB 850, Browning, Montana 59417, or a charity of your choice . -
