    • Robert L. “Bob” Whitton, 84, Kokomo, passed away at 9:58 am on Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. He was born on July 3, 1932, in Ft. Wayne, the son of Paul David & Esther Fern (Zegafuse) Whitton. On July 13, 1957, he married Bonita M. “Bonnie” Grunert and she survives.

      Bob was a 1950 graduate of Central High School in Ft. Wayne. He served with the United States Army National Guard with Company “M” 293D Infantry Regiment earning the rank of SP3. Bob moved to Kokomo in 1979 to become district sales manager for Frito Lay. He served with Frito Lay until his retired in 1994. Prior to moving to Kokomo, Bob, was a store manager for A&P. He was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. Bob and Bonita spent 21 years wintering in Pioneer Creek Park in Bowling Green, FL., along with spending many years of family camping. He enjoying fishing, playing golf, and carpentry. Friends and family will remember his love to build things.
      Bob is survived by his wife, Bonnie Whitton, Kokomo; children, Linda Whitton (John Harris), Valparaiso, Judy Whitton, Ft. Wayne, Carol (Michael) Skelly, Aurora, IL, and Jeannie Whitton-Smith, Canal Winchester, OH; grandchildren, Kim Wolske, Chicago, Evanita Montalvo, Woodinville, Pete Zook, Ft. Wayne, Timothy Fox, Chicago, Jacob Fox, Columbia City, MO, Melanie Smith, Megan Smith, and Parker Smith, all of Canal Winchester, OH; brother, Gerald (Janice) Whitton, Alaska; sister-in-law, Sandy Whitton, Remington.

      Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Doyle Whitton, and maternal grandparents, Francis & Nellie Zegafuse.
