    • Richville – Leslie M. “Les” Davis, 53, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at his home.

      A funeral service will be held Friday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur with Rev. Michael Tomford, pastor of the Richville Christian Fellowship officiating. A luncheon for friends and family will follow the funeral service at the Richville Fire Hall. Calling hours are Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

      Les was born October 8, 1960 in Gouverneur, the son of Elmer “Ike” and Geraldine Harvey Davis. He graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1978. Les worked as a corrections officer before working at Viking CIVES for over 25 years.

      He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and going to camp. He also enjoyed playing cards and volleyball, family cookouts, and spending time with his grandchildren. Les was a member of the Gouverneur and Richville Vol. Fire Departments, Gouverneur Elks Lodge, and Whitton Woodlot camp.

      Les is survived by his companion, Tracy Whitton; his children, Brian and Ivy Davis of Rensselaer Falls, Steven Davis of Ogdensburg, Ashley and David McDonnell of Depeyster, Nathan Whitton of Richville, and Daniel Whitton of Richville; four grandchildren, Skyler Davis, Garrett Davis, Benjamin McDonnell, and Jazlinne Davis; his mother, Geraldine Blair of Hermon; his four sisters, Sue Jenkins of Gouverneur, Dawn Slayko of DeKalb, Mary Hendricks of DeKalb and Elaine Larry of West Henrietta; and several nieces and nephews.

      He was predeceased by his father; and an infant brother, Lawrence Davis.
