    • Verla Dee Whitton: Born March 18, 1926 to John Franklin Kinaman and Cora Jane Kinaman. Her siblings included brothers Dean, Frank and Bob; sisters Frances, Pearl and Augusta Joyce “Petey.”
      Verla’s first marriage was to Garland Vanover. They had two children, Garland Duane and Yvonne Kaye.
      Verla’s second marriage was to Clarence Whitton; they remained married until his death in 1997.
      Verla’s nephew, Charles Kinaman, resided with her until his death in 2005.
      Verla departed this life on November 4, 2015.
      Verla is survived by her son and his wife, Duane and Shirley Vanover of Fairbury, her son in law Michael Corey of Houston, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brian Vanover, Shelly Harvey and fiancé Jason Clark, Mike “Bud” Corey and his spouse Heather Fisher, seven great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren.

      Verla’s extended family includes her long-time neighbors, Bob and Deanna Ewing who provided care and companionship to her. She also had an adopted grandson, Rob Newcomb of Lincoln. Verla’s dog Jackson was of great comfort to her, he also survives her passing.

      Verla was preceded in death by her husband Clarence; her daughter Yvonne Corey; several nephews and nieces, and all of her siblings.
      A Memorial Service will be held at the West Side Baptist Church in Beatrice on November 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow after the service at the church. Cremation has taken place and a burial will occur at a later date.
