    • Lt.-Col. Harold G. Whitton who was the Commanding Officer of the 32nd Battalion comprising the Williamstown and Footscray areas for a long period, died on Wednesday night at Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital. He rose from the ranks to the rank of Lieut.-Colonel. He was known to many people and schoolchildren as a Head Teacher and was the head teacher of North Williamstown school at the time of his death. Colonel Whitton served in the 8th Battalion in the First A.I.F. and was a member of the local Rotary and Bowling
