    • his mother died 10 days after he was born. He was brought up by relatives who adopted him and he took their name Moar.
      Postmaster Hoy in 1936 he became County Councillor for Hoy, a merchant, Post Office, Hoy
      A Local Councillor, when Lyness Naval Base closed in 1957 he said that 1/2 of the people who would lose their jobs were from Hoy. Population on Hoy was 900. Within a few years the North Hoy school had only 3 children due to people leaving so it closed.
