    • was buried April 16, 1868 in Pioneer Cemetery Tumut, NSW Church of England section.

Marriage Notes: Tumut Presbyterian Church was the first church in Tumut. A slab building with a shingled roof and lighted by tallow candles was erected in Herbert Street, opposite the residence of Mrs Carr, snr. and a residence for the clergyman was built on the opposite side of the street. The Rev. Fitzgerald was the first clergyman appointed to the parish.
The present church was completed in 1881, the Rev. Dandy being the first clergyman to preach in it.

Notes: OBITUARIES: From the Gundagai Times 4 April 1868
Mrs William French, of Brungle Creek, has met with a sad disaster, and now lies at a friend's house in town in a very precarious state. It appears Mrs French was suddenly called from home in the night to attend a sick neighbour, and as it was dark she preferred going on foot to riding the horse brought for her. Carrying her youngest child in her arms, she was rapidly nearing her destination when suddenly her foot tripped, and she fell down a steep bank into a mass of dead timber. The child was unhurt, but Mrs Freench was so seriously injured that her medical attendant, Dr Lynch, expresses but faint hopes of her perfect recovery.
OBITUARIES: From the Gundagai Times 18 April 1868
I regret to record that Mrs William French died yesterday morning from the effects of the accident she lately met with, which I reported in a former letter. Until Sunday last great hopes were entertained of her recovery, but being removed from bed too soon, she appears to have caught cold, and inflammation of the lungs ensuing caused her decease. She has left a family of eight young children to lament her loss.
