    • Myrtle Isabella Fesperman was the eldest daughter, and fifth of seven children, born to George Washignton Fesperman and his wife Mary Alice Hood, from near Matthews, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Her paternal grandparents were Daniel M. Fesperman and his wife Serena Covington, of Anson County, NC, and her maternal grandparents were Andrew J. Hood and his wife Isabelle P. Biggers, of Mecklenburg County.

Myrtle married Morris Rea Ritch (1887-1975). He was a son of Philemon Morris Ritch and his second wife Martha Virginia C. Lemmond, of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Myrtle and Morris lived in Charlotte. They had one son, Morris Rea Ritch, Jr. (1917-1996, m. Virginia Smith), and at least one grandson, Harrell Dixon Ritch (1951-1972).

From "A Hood Sketch Book," a history of the Hood family of Mecklenburg County, NC, published by Rev. by S. J. Hood, Pastor of Blacksburg, South Carolina ARP Church, in July 1926:

"Myrtle, July 26, 1890, married Morris Ritch, who was reared in the Robinson section of Mecklenburg county, and they have lived mostly in Charlotte. They have a manly little boy eight years old, which bears his father's given name, Morris, Jr. Before her marriage some ten years ago, Myrtle attended Linwood College, where she graduated in 1912, was popular as a student, and made many friends by her winning manners and congenial nature. In 1911-12 she taught school in Anderson County, S. C.,
